Kioptrix Virtual Machine 3 installation on Oracle virtual box

STEP 1: Download and install the Oracle Virtual Box. Go to Oracle's official website , here you'd download the virtualbox software also ensure to download your specific platform package (either windows OS, mac OS or Linux distribution). In the image below I just selected windows hosts.
STEP 2: Download the virtual machine (VM)
from Vulnhub - KVM3
STEP 3: The downloaded .rar file is an
archive of many files which we need to extract. According to your Operating
System and the applications you have installed, extract this file to a folder,
and remember the path of that folder
STEP 4: Open the VirtualBox application and on the top menu, select ‘New’
STEP 5: Give it a name, choose the path
where the machine files will be stored, or leave it unchanged. Select Type: ‘Linux’
and Version: ‘Other Linux 32-bit’. Then click ‘Next’
STEP 6: Select the appropriate machine
memory size. Anything over 512MB is sufficient. Then click ‘Next’
STEP 7: 'Use an existing virtual hard disk file,' click on the folder icon to choose the path. Then click 'Next'
STEP 8: Click 'Add' on the top menu, choose
the path to the directory where the extracted files are, and select the .vmdk
file and then click on 'Choose'
STEP 9: On the ‘Summary’ window, click on ‘Finish’
STEP 10: Start the machine by clicking on the ‘Start’ button which is at the top menu
STEP 12: Once you see the ‘Kioptrix login:’
text, the machine is running
